KISRA – Sudanese Restaurant Branding
For this brief I had to create the branding
for a Sudanese restaurant; this included
the logo, exterior and interior signs, menu and produce.
Kisra (kis-rah) is a popular thin fermented bread made from durra or wheat. It is the foundation of many Sudanese meals.
The brief described the target audience as young and on trend, which is what I wanted my branding to represent.

The bright blue helps to show the vibrant
feel to the restaurant, as well as referencing
the blue of The Nile. The interior artwork
is made up of murals painted by Sudanese artist Rashid Diab which helps bring an authenticity to the new restaurant.
The products are all traditional food and drink that is consumed in Sudan but given
a modern packaging to help reflect the style of the restaurant. Additional details such
as the sesame seeds or the hibiscus flower
help hint at what is inside and keep each packaging unique in design.
